Latter-day Saints Share Testimonies for National Bible Week

The population of the Philippines is predominantly Christian, and Following Republic Act 11163, the last Monday of every January is designated National Bible Day, a special working holiday, with the week of the holiday being National Bible Week.

Members of the Church love and study the Bible, and bear testimonies of the Bible just as much as the Book of Mormon, which is more commonly associated with the Church. For National Bible Week, Filipino members of the Church of Jesus Christ have shared their testimonies of the Bible.

My testimony of the truth has grown since I started reading the Bible. Through it and other scriptures, I was able to do so many things that I never thought I could do. Reading about Heavenly Father & Jesus Christ has strengthened my faith. The Lord says to stop thinking that you are young and small, remember that through Jesus, you can do all things. All you need to do is to trust Jesus when he asks you to do something.

Because of what He said I can feel His presence and joy. Since I read this, I have also had the confidence to share his wondrous words with others, everyday.

We love reading the Bible, especially the New Testament. We are comforted by the promised blessings of the Lord, that if we keep His commandments by seeking first the Kingdom of God, all things shall be given unto us. All blessings will be showered upon us. It is also said that we don't need to fear for what we have because he clothed even the grass of the field, so the promised blessings of Heavenly Father is always there, and He really loves and is mindful of us.

I know that the Bible is the word of God. It has the power to comfort us and heal us. My latest experience of being in a minor accident has strengthened my testimony that the gospel is really powerful. I decided to still go to school after the accident due to my commitment being a secondary teacher. I submitted myself to God through my faith in Him and Heavenly Father to ease my fears and doubts, and all the pain that I felt that day. He gave me strength to have a second life. After eight days, I am still in the healing process, hoping that I could regain my strength to go back to my usual activities.

One of my favorite scripture verses in the Bible is found on Philippians 4:13 which says, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” This verse made me realize how fragile life is, that I should handle it with prayers. I love to read the scriptures even when I am still an investigator of the Church. The gospel shared by missionaries helped me a lot especially amidst difficult and unexpected circumstances.

One of the things I learned from the Bible was the Plan of Salvation and how important it is. We need to look at all people as Heavenly Father sees them as they are also children of our loving Heavenly father. I know the Bible is true, and I know this is God's word. I know that God loves us so much that he gave His only begotten Son so that we can have a chance to go back to his presence.

I found the truth as I read the bible. I also learned about the teachings of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I testify that it is the word of God and is the witness that they live. The Bible inspires me to know my Savior at all times, and inspire me to overcome life's challenges.

I know that the Bible is true. As members of The Church, we believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly.

I am humbled to know the story and life of Jesus Christ. He ministered to us and sacrificed His life for our salvation. I know that the Bible is a word of God. It is where it all started.
