Church joins Bohol Stakeholders’ Fellowship in Celebration of the National Bible Month

The Church represented by Tagbilaran Stake President, Pres. Jerome G. Galotera, joined Bohol Stakeholders’ Fellowship in celebration of National Bible Month. This was hosted by the Provincial Government of Bohol last January 30, 2023 held at the Ceremonial Hall, New Provincial Capitol Site in Tagbilaran City. The celebration across the country was in pursuant to Republic Act No. 1163, Presidential Proclamation No. 124 s. 2017 and other pertinent laws and issuances dedicating our country and our lives to our Divine Provider. In attendance were leaders of different Bible-believing organizations and Churches in the province, heads of government offices and members of the Provincial Board led by Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado.

In his message, Governor Aumentado expressed the significance of the occasion by recognizing the Holy Book as the core of the Christian faith, a beacon light, and a source of inspiration and instruction for all people and for those in public service. He further stated, “its words are so beautiful and true that anyone’s life could be changed by it for the better.” As the father of the province, he encouraged everyone to live and be like Christ and work for the betterment of their brothers and sisters

Highlighting the program was the reading of different Bible verses from each of the Church and government representatives. One by one, they read it with the spirit of reverence and awe. The messages were like packets of lights that illuminated the participants' minds. They were pure truth that inspires, guides, enlightens, and expands the soul. Praises and glory to the Holy name of our powerful God, our Redeemer, and our Great Shepherd was heard. Voices of warning to wickedness echoed and understood. Feelings of thanksgiving for strength, courage, mercy, and compassion the Lord has extended abound. Sure promises of blessings and healing the land, when people humble, pray, repent, trust, and honor God was pronounced.

The fellowship was not a mere ceremonial assembly but a spiritual gathering. It was a solid manifestation that unity, love, and peace are achieved among people of varying religions, beliefs, and circumstances when Christ is placed at the center of every endeavor. There were no borders nor barriers that hindered the Bible-believing leaders from uniting in prayer, worship, and honoring the solemn commemoration. They all kept this great truth in the forefront of their minds Jesus’s assurance that “…where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

Indeed, National Bible Month is a celebration of reflection, meditation, and thanksgiving of the goodness and greatness of God, the author of the Holy Book.
