Philippine Broadcast Schedules of the 189th Annual General Conference

Over 750,000 members in the Philippines prepare for this religious gathering

Millions of Latter-day Saints from all over the world will participate in the upcoming 189th annual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

In the Philippines, close to 800,000 members of the Church look forward to hearing spiritual messages related to the gospel of Jesus Christ from general authorities and other Church leaders for leadership direction, personal guidance, and inspiration.

 

They will gather at stakes (dioceses) and districts (small dioceses) centers in various locations around the country to watch the rebroadcast of the general conference via Church satellite systems. Friends of the Church who belong to other faiths are invited to participate in the sessions.

Live Broadcast Sessions

All sessions of the general conference will be broadcast live from the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah at the following times (Philippines Time):

Saturday Session

Saturday Morning Session: Sunday, 7 April at 12:00 midnight

Saturday Afternoon Session: Sunday, 7 April at 4:00 am

General Priesthood Session: Sunday, 7 April at 8:00 am

Sunday Session

Sunday Morning Session: Monday, 8 April at 12:00 midnight

Sunday Afternoon Session: Monday, 8 April at 4:00 am

Rebroadcast Sessions

All the sessions of the general conference will be rebroadcast at all stakes and district centers at the following schedules:

Saturday Session

General Priesthood Session: Saturday, 13 April at 8:00 am

Saturday Morning Session: Saturday, 13 April at11:00 am

Saturday Afternoon Session: Saturday, 13 April at 2:00 pm

General Priesthood Session: Saturday, 13 April at 5:00 pm

Sunday Session

Sunday Morning Session: Sunday, 14 April at 9:00 am

Sunday Afternoon Session: Sunday, 14 April at 12:00 pm

The general priesthood session is for young and adult male members of the Church ages 12 and older.

Latter-day Saints around the world gather twice a year, every spring and fall, to receive instructions and guidance from Church leaders. However, as not all members are able to participate in the conference personally, the sessions are broadcast live via Church satellite in 80 languages to over 7,400 Church centers located in over 100 countries.

In the Philippines, the 189thannual general sessions will be interpreted in two languages, Tagalog and Cebuano.

Once the conference is over, the talks are published on ChurchOfJesusChrist.org and reprinted in Church magazines, such as the Ensign and Liahona for members to read and study.

The first general conference conducted was in 1830, at the time the restored Church was organized by Joseph Smith. At the time, the attendance included 30 baptized members of the Church and several members interested in the Church.
