President Steven J. Lund, Young Men General President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, met with young men and women from Imus and Bacoor Stake (diocese) and reemphasized how each of them has a divine heritage.

During the five-day "For the Strength of Youth" (FSY) Conference held at the newly completed FSY Camp in Tanay, Rizal last July 2023, hundreds of Cavite youth members committed to President Lund's challenge to take to heart the opening lines of both Young Women and Aaronic Priesthood themes: "I am a beloved daughter of heavenly parents" and "I am a beloved son of God."

"We live in a different world than we used to, where the philosophies of men, as Joseph Smith once warned, strive to persuade you to deny your true identity," President Lund counseled.

He also urged them to embrace their authenticity and uniqueness as Heavenly Father's children and to remember that each of them has a purpose in God's plan.

Many attendees said they were inspired by President Lund's message, especially his timely reminders to continue preparing "the world for the Savior's return" and of the youth's important role in the gathering of Israel.

Matthieu Valdez of Imus 3rd Ward (diocese) shared that he felt “immense joy” in hearing President Lund's message. "I am so happy that I heard the inspiring stories shared by President Lund, and through those stories, it motivates me to prepare and serve a mission,” he said.

Also present at the Cavite FSY Conference were Elder Carlos G. Revillo Jr., Second Counselor of the Philippines Area Presidency, his wife Sister Marites F. Revillo, as well as Elder Norman C. Insong, of the Area Seventy, and his wife, Sister Regina Insong.

President Lund traveled from Church Headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA with his wife Kalleen, to meet with Filipino Saints from Cavite, Pampanga, Iloilo, and several provinces in Western Visayas, among others.
