LDSC Donates Heated Respiratory Humidifier Machines to Bicol Medical Center (BMC) for COVID-19 Patients

Donation to BMC Amounts to P 1.6 Million

Dr. Mary Jane Uy, Chief of Medical Professional Staff, accepted four (4) units of Turbine High Flow Nasal Cannula and Oxygen Therapy machines. This was done on behalf of Bicol Medical Center (BMC) from Latter-day Saint (LDS) Charities as represented by Country Director Jairus Perez last 3 March 2022.

The donated (4) units of Comen NF5 High Flow Heated Respiratory Humidifier Machines amounting to P 1.6 million to Bicol Medical Center (BMC) is intended to help in the management and treatment of COVID-19 patients.

The Bicol Medical Center (BMC) has served as the primary COVID-19 Treatment Center in the Bicol Region and has also been hardly hit with thousands of cases during the surge of the pandemic. 

On 24 March 2020, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte signed Republic Act No. 11469, also known as the “Bayanihan to Heal As One Act,” to address the national emergency brought about by COVID-19.

The donated machines serve the humanitarian purpose of the church in fighting the pandemic pursuant to the Philippine Government’s, “Bayanihan to Heal as One Act.”

Present during the turnover of the machines is the Naga Philippines Stake (diocese) President Michael T. Diaz; Bishop Romulo San Ramon and wife, Eloisa San Ramon; Stake’s Communication Council Presidency Melvi Briones, Teresita Bongalon, and Paul John Legaspi; Elder and Sister Orencia and Elder and Sister Hill, church-service missionaries from LDS Charities.
