LDSC Distributes Water to 100 Families in Barangay Kamputhaw

LDSC joins with Barangay Kamputhaw officials to distribute water to 100 typhoon-stricken families of Barangay Kamputhaw in Sitio Sambag.

Barangay Kamputhaw in Cebu City had been without water for days since Typhoon Odette (Rai) pummeled through the Central Visayas region on December 16, 2021.

Sitio Sambag was one of the most in need of water a week after the typhoon. With this, Church members continued to look for opportunities to serve as water for home, and personal use was delivered on a water tanker to the families in need.

A total of 100 families were able to benefit from this activity. Coordinating with the Church were Barangay Captain Jessica Cadungog of Kamputhaw through Barangay Councilor Gilbert Cuyos, Chair on the Committee on Disaster Risk Reduction for Barangay Kamputhaw.

Upon contemplating this blessing, President Dennis Dan Nunez, church leader of the Cebu City Stake (Diocese), shared, "This came at a time when the people in Sambag have been without water for days."

These efforts were part of the "Light The World" initiative, which encourages everyone to act on service opportunities and assist people in need.

Pres. Nunez further shared, "It is during this time that we truly see what the season is all about."
