Church Donates P700K Worth of Printing Materials to 3 Public Schools

As part of its continued efforts to support schools and education across the country, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints donated over P700,000 worth of printing materials to three public schools in Barangay (Village) 164, Talipapa, Caloocan City last July 28, 2021.

Through its humanitarian arm, Latter-day Saint Charities (LDSC), the Church handed over a duplicator machine, 2,348 reams of bond paper, and 10 bottles of ink to its three beneficiaries: Talipapa High School, Talipapa Elementary School, and Magandang Ugnayan Child Development Center. These donations will be used for the printing of modules and other learning materials for students to use at home during online classes this upcoming school year.

As educational institutions continue to bridge the gap brought about by distance learning, the need for printing materials has never been greater.

Ms. Almina F. Bunggay, Talipapa High School principal, expressed her gratitude for the Church’s donations. She said, "This is the first time that we received such huge donations! These are heaven-sent for our public school students."

Quezon City Stake (Diocese) President Diosdado Yumul shared how it was a “humbling and delightful” experience to provide assistance to the community. He said, “[These donated supplies] will be used by our precious youth and children as they continue learning during these difficult times. It is a pleasure for us to partner with Barangay 164 to [help] these three schools. We look forward to continued joint undertakings with you.”

Sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, LDS Charities is an application of the admonition of Jesus Christ to help others in need. Jesus Christ taught His followers to give meat to the hungry and drink to those who thirst.
