Christmas Relief Operation Brings Hope to Over 2,500 Families in Isabela

The Santiago North Philippines Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints kicked off the holiday season by organizing a Christmas gift-giving Relief Operation on December 17, 2024, benefiting more than 2,500 families in Isabela severely impacted by recent tropical storms.

This initiative aimed to provide much-needed support to families affected by Tropical Storms Kristine, Leon, Marci, Nika, and Pepito (local names), which ravaged the region in the past few months.

The relief distribution occurred at the Rizal Chapel, where beneficiaries gathered to receive food packs filled with essential items such as rice, beans, canned goods, milk, noodles, and other necessities. The event was made possible through the collective efforts of full-time missionaries and Latter-day Saints from the Santiago North Philippines Stake, who worked tirelessly to serve those in need.

Led by Stake President Rodrigo Puyat, the operation was executed smoothly and efficiently, distributing aid in just a few hours despite the large number of beneficiaries.

The event highlighted the power of love and service—principles that transcend differences and unite communities.

Many beneficiaries were deeply moved and expressed their gratitude through smiles and tears. For them, the relief operation was about material support and the emotional comfort of knowing they were seen, cared for, and supported during one of the most difficult times this year.

The simple act of kindness brought renewed hope and strength to families striving to rebuild after the storms.
