BYU Vocal Point awes Filipinos in first-ever Philippines tour

The Philippines was treated to an unforgettable musical extravaganza last May 2023.

Vocal Point, Brigham Young University's renowned nine-man a cappella group, brought mesmerizing performances to Manila, Baguio, Cebu, and Dumaguete, and made special visits to other notable locations. Combining their unique vocal abilities, humor, and showmanship, Vocal Point delivered electrifying shows that left audiences wanting for more.

But the tour wasn't just about entertainment. Vocal Point went above and beyond, dedicating their time to serving others amid their busy concert schedule. They actively participated in Mabuhay Deseret's Wheatley House where they conducted eye screenings to help those with visual needs in Cebu. In a heartwarming display of community spirit, they also joined Habitat for Humanity in a meaningful project at Bignay Maunlad Community in Valenzuela City, where they helped build fences and uplifted the community with their musical gifts. Moreover, they generously shared their passion and knowledge by conducting a music workshop for the aspiring singers of the Bignay Choir, inspiring musical talents in the local community.

Not only did BYU Vocal Point captivate audiences during their concerts, but they also made a splash on popular morning and noontime shows like GMA TV's Unang Hirit, and Ticktoclock, and CNN Philippines’ New Day show. The TV appearances allowed them to showcase their incredible talent to a wider audience, spreading their amazing music across the country.

The Vocal Point Philippine tour went beyond mere performances; it was a meaningful experience that left a lasting impact. Partnering with esteemed organizations such as Caritas Manila, Mabuhay Deseret Foundation, Child and Family Service Philippines, Inc., Arts Council of Cebu Foundation, Inc., and Culture and Arts Council of Silliman University, the tour brought joy through music while making a positive difference in the lives of many. Together with these incredible organizations, Vocal Point spread happiness, support, and cultural enrichment throughout the Philippines, creating a lasting legacy.

Expressing their gratitude to the Filipino people, Vocal Point took the opportunity to pay courtesy visits to civic leaders including Baguio City's Vice-Mayor Faustino Olowan and Dumaguete Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo. They also cherished the chance to connect with the local community on a more personal level through devotionals, workshops, and meet-and-greets in several locations around the country. The personal interactions allowed fans to get to know the group more intimately, forging a stronger bond between Vocal Point and their Filipino supporters.

As part of their remarkable journey, the group also had a special shoot in Bohol for their upcoming music video, set to be released soon.
