The April 2024 edition of the Philippines Report, also known as the Philippines Local Report—a compilation of news from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Philippines—is now available on the Church Newsroom Philippines page, and on the official Facebook and YouTube pages of the Philippines Area.

The April 2024 Philippines Report highlights the work of The Church of Jesus Christ over the past six months, including the highly successful Philippines tour of The Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square last February. The Local Report also features the growing number of temples in the country, with the Urdaneta Philippines Temple drawing over 65,000 visitors during its three-week Open House. The Urdaneta Temple will be dedicated by President Dallin H. Oaks, First Counselor in the First Presidency, on April 28, 2024.

The Urdaneta temple is the third temple in the Philippines, where there are now almost 900,000 Latter-day Saints and 10 additional temples in planning or construction. In a span of 63 years, the Church has experienced astounding strength and growth in the country known as the “Pearl of the Orient.”

The report also spotlights the Church's significant humanitarian efforts across the Philippines. In 2023 alone, the Church completed over 312 humanitarian projects, including providing emergency assistance, enhancing food security, supplying clean water, offering health assistance, and supporting scholarships and educational initiatives.

Additionally, the report underscores the ongoing efforts of the Church in the Philippines to connect with and cultivate positive relationships with leaders and friends of other faiths. Amid armed conflicts in several areas around the world, the Church is committed to creating and nurturing relationships with other religions and beliefs to promote peace, understanding, and global humanism.
