For this year’s Easter season, the Philippines Area Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is inviting Filipinos to learn more about the Atonement of Jesus Christ, which they said “brings healing, peace, and joy.”

Elder Carlos G. Revillo Jr., Philippines Area President, together with his counselors Elder Chi Hong Wong and Elder Michael B. Strong, encouraged Filipino families and friends to join the Holy Week Easter Study Plan. The study plan offers daily scriptures, thoughts, and simple ways to help people feel and share Christ’s love during the Easter season.

“We encourage you to draw closer to Christ during Holy Week by following the daily Easter Study Plan—whether with your family, friends, or by yourself,” the Area Presidency said.

“As you do, you will come to better understand Christ’s infinite Atonement, which brings healing, peace, and joy through life’s challenges. His Resurrection gives us hope and reminds us of God’s promise of eternal families,” they added.

The Easter Holy Week Study Plan can be found in the Gospel Library app, which is available for free download on both iOS and Android devices. The app is open to everyone, including friends of the Church, and provides easy access to daily scriptures, messages, and activities designed to help users learn more about God, our Heavenly Father, His Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ and their plan of happiness.

The Easter Study Plan is based on stories from the last week of the Savior’s life, recorded in the New Testament and the Book of Mormon—another book of scripture that teaches about Jesus Christ. The readings and activities are meant to help people reflect on what Christ did and why it matters.

“By reflecting on the sacred events of Holy Week, may your heart be filled with gratitude as you recognize God's boundless love for all His children,” the Area Presidency shared. “We pray that your Easter is filled with faith, light, and the joy of Christ.”

Easter is one of the most meaningful times of worship for Christians in the Philippines. Filipino Latter-day Saints, like many others, mark Holy Week with worship services, scripture study, fasting, and time with family.

The Church joins Christians around the world in celebrating Easter as a time to remember Jesus Christ and the love He showed. In John 15:13, the Savior taught, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”

Additionally, this year’s Come, Follow Me Easter study guide also includes teachings about Christ’s Atonement and Resurrection found in the Doctrine and Covenants.

Families and friends are invited to feel the spirit of Holy Week through the simple and easy-to-share Easter Study Plan, available online. Latter-day Saints in the Philippines are also encouraged to invite others to attend Easter Sunday services to remember and celebrate the Savior’s Resurrection.

Messages from each of the living Apostles of the Church are featured in a special Easter video collection. More resources can be found at Easter.ChurchofJesusChrist.org.
