Elder Carlos G. Revillo Jr., Philippines Area President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, presided at the event. His wife, Sister Marie Revillo, joined him at the launch and press meet. “Light the World is not a campaign. It is an invitation. It is a call to care for the people who are most neglected. I hope that we can see His light and share this with others,” he said in his brief message.
Celebrity ambassadors Eric “Eruption” Tai, Xia Vigor, and Jairus Aquino also took part in the launch, sharing their talents as hosts and lending their voices to the program. Beyond the event itself, they dedicated their time, influence, and platforms to help promote the #LightTheWorld Giving Machines nationwide, encouraging more Filipinos to participate in Christlike giving throughout the season.

Cebu City Mayor Hon. Nestor Archival Sr. expressed strong and continued support for the #LightTheWorld Giving Machines, which have been installed every Christmastime in Cebu since 2018. “I express my support for this initiative and request that you continue to do this project, not just this year, but for many years to come here in Cebu,” he said.
Mr. Sean Knights, Chief Operating Officer of NUSTAR The Mall, and Ms. May Adolfo, the mall’s General Manager, also welcomed the Giving Machines as a meaningful addition to NUSTAR’s Christmas offerings.
Representatives from Cebu’s charity partners attended the launch and emphasized that the donated items will directly support their beneficiaries. These included Architect Joseph Michael Espina of Parents Reach Foundation, Ms. Magdalena Lopez of Kythe Foundation, and Mr. Nathaniel Rafols of Cebu Caritas.
At the press meet, more than 30 journalists from various media organizations participated and helped promote the machines not only to mall patrons but also to the wider Cebu community, many of whom are expected to visit The Mall at NUSTAR during the festive season.
The Giving Machines are part of the worldwide #LightTheWorld initiative, which encourages people to follow the example of Jesus Christ by caring for others. These special vending machines allow visitors to donate items such as food packs, medical supplies, education kits, therapy support, and livelihood materials. Globally, Giving Machines have raised more than $50 million, with 100% of every donation going directly to charity partners.
Since 2018, the Philippines has joined more than 140 locations worldwide where over 850,000 visitors donated nearly 500,000 items last year. Donations may be made through cash or e-payment.
This year, Giving Machines are located in Manila, Cebu, Bacolod, and Davao, each featuring local charities addressing real community needs. The Cebu machines will remain open at The Mall at NUSTAR until January 6, 2026, giving residents, shoppers, and visitors ample time to participate.
