Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints marked their calendars yellow on April 26, 2014, as thousands of Mormon Helping Hands volunteers participated in a National Day of Service.
Projects included clean-up of streets, markets and schools; coastal clean-ups; building of homes for Gawad Kalinga and Habitat for Humanity as well as bloodletting and family preparedness campaigns highlighting the importance of 72-hour emergency kits.
For the last six years, more than two million hours of community service have been rendered by Mormon Helping Hands volunteers from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
The Helping Hands program reflects their desire to follow the example of Jesus Christ by serving others.
A series of projects will be featured through video in Mormon Newsroom.
