The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Donates Medical and Dental Equipment to Philippine Air Force

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints donated medical and dental equipment to the Philippine Air Force (PAF) on January 12, 2026, to enhance medical treatment facilities serving Air Force personnel, their families, civilian employees, and nearby communities.

The donation strengthens the capability of several Philippine Air Force medical treatment facilities nationwide, improving access to essential healthcare services.

The turnover ceremony was led by Pres. Ronnie S. Cabarles, Pasay Philippines Stake President. He was joined by leaders and members of his Stake. Brigadier General Genaro C. Menor, PAF, received the equipment on behalf of the Commanding General of the Philippine Air Force, Lieutenant General Arthur M. Cordura.

Also present were humanitarian missionaries and representatives of the Church in the Philippines for welfare and self-reliance. Philippine Air Force representatives included Colonel Joselito C. Munar; Colonel Jonathan Rico, Commanding Officer of the Air Force General Hospital; Colonel Omar Velena VI, Chief of the Air Force Dental Service; and other PAF personnel.

A Partnership Rooted in Service

The donation builds on a partnership between the Church and the Philippine Air Force that began in 2022 during post-pandemic community vaccination efforts in Pasay City. Through coordination with Air Force medical personnel, that initial collaboration led to continued cooperation focused on humanitarian service and community welfare.

Colonel Munar, a member of the Church and of the Pasay Stake High Council, played a key role in strengthening coordination between the two organizations.

Equipment for Nationwide Use

The donated equipment will be distributed to the following facilities:

  • Air Force General Hospital, Colonel Jesus Villamor Air Base, Pasay City
  • Brigadier General Benito N. Ebuen Air Base Hospital, Mactan, Cebu
  • Wallace Air Station Military Infirmary, San Fernando, La Union
  • 1301st Dental Dispensary, Colonel Jesus Villamor Air Base, Pasay City
  • 1306th Dental Dispensary, Edwin Andrews Air Base, Zamboanga City

Lieutenant General Cordura, through Brigadier General Menor, expressed appreciation for the Church’s support, noting that the donation contributes to medical readiness and personnel welfare.

For The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, humanitarian service reflects faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to care for individuals and families. Through partnerships with government and community institutions, the Church continues to support initiatives that strengthen communities across the Philippines.
