San Fernando La Union Stake Marks Valentine’s Day with Blood Donation Drive

While many celebrated Valentine’s Day with flowers and gifts, members of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the San Fernando La Union Stake chose a different expression of love — the gift of life.

In coordination with the National Voluntary Blood Services Program of the Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center (ITRMC), the stake conducted a blood-letting drive that brought together volunteer donors, leaders, and community partners in a shared effort to serve others.

The activity was presided over by Stake President Roderick Andrada, with members of the stake presidency and Relief Society presidency in attendance. Throughout the day, participants donated blood to help patients in need, turning the traditional celebration of Valentine’s Day into an opportunity to provide hope and healing.

Church members described the effort as a meaningful way to live the Savior’s teachings through service and compassion. By giving blood, volunteers offered a lifesaving resource to individuals and families they may never meet, demonstrating love in its most selfless form.

Leaders expressed gratitude to all donors and organizers whose willingness to serve made the activity successful. The partnership with the ITRMC National Voluntary Blood Services Program also highlighted the importance of community collaboration in meeting urgent medical needs.
