Philippine Red Cross Recognizes Church For Humanitarian Service

The Urdaneta Philippines Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was recognized by the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Pangasinan chapter for its continued humanitarian service and support of blood donation initiatives in the community.

The stake received a Diploma of Service during the PRC’s “Biskeg Ya Dala” Blood Services awards ceremony held at SM City Urdaneta in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan last August 26, 2026, in recognition of services rendered to the Red Cross.

The stake was also honored with the Panangidayew Award for Outstanding Blood Collection Achievement, recognizing its meaningful contribution to the blood services program during 2025. The Church contributed blood units, helping provide potentially lifesaving support to patients and families in need.

Sister Sarah Tolentino, stake Coordinating Council communications director, and Brother Sunny Planas, a member of the Urdaneta 1st Ward bishopric, received the awards on behalf of the Urdaneta Philippines Stake.

The recognition also highlighted the broader humanitarian collaboration between the PRC and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Church was cited as a Blood Services Humanitarian Donor of the Year, in recognition of its support for humanitarian services and blood-related programs in Pangasinan.

The Church was recognized for its significant donation of blood services equipment that have helped strengthen the PRC’s capacity to deliver humanitarian and blood services to communities in the province.

The recognition is also a reminder of the Church’s commitment to follow the example of Jesus Christ by serving others and responding to the needs of the community.
