My Happily Ever After

When I returned home from my mission I committed to strive to align myself to the will of the Lord in achieving my life goals and plans. Having my own family and finishing my education were at the top of my priorities. Financial resources were a concern in achieving these righteous goals as it is for most single adults. But with faith in the Lord, I continued doing my part. I tried finding a job that would suit my busy schedule as a student and still allow me to attend church services. Unfortunately, the jobs I had to take did not suit my priorities and values. I held on to my faith and knew the Lord would lead me to the right opportunity.

The time finally came when I found the woman I wanted to spend eternity with. We soon made plans to be married in the house of the Lord and build our own family. I finished a part-time job contract in a company and was looking for a better job that would help us fulfill our wedding plans and sustain my education needs. That’s when I heard about the Job Fair (Job Supermarket Day) organized by the Employment Resource Center through a social media site. At first I was reluctant to attend thinking I could find work on my own but the enthusiastic invitation from the members and informative announcements through social media sites peaked my interest to attend the event.

What had been announced by the organizers was true. There were lots of company representatives interviewing applicants. I had the chance to choose according to my skills and interests. I submitted application papers and was interviewed by a company who was looking for part-time online tutors. With the Lord’s help I got the job. Getting that job opened other opportunities for me in this field of work which helped me financially in my family and study needs.

I am now happily married and serving as Elder’s Quorum (organization for male adults) President in our ward (congregation). This experience strengthened my testimony in becoming self reliant. I know the Lord knows the desire of our hearts. He wants to bless us with opportunities that will help us receive His blessings. I am grateful for the programs and activities organized by our leaders that provide assistance in finding these blessings and opportunities from the Lord.
