- Working with national health organizations and ministries of health from countries around the world, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has sent volunteer physicians and nurses to instruct birth attendants on neonatal resuscitation techniques. With such training, attendants are able to help save the lives of babies who have breathing difficulties at birth.
- Through Church efforts, tens of thousands of birth attendants have been trained.
- In 2006, training was conducted in 26 countries: Albania, Argentina, Botswana, Brazil, Colombia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Ghana, India, Jordan, Lebanon, Lesotho, Liberia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Namibia, Nigeria, Paraguay, Peru, Sierra Leone, Thailand, Turkey and Ukraine.
