Latter-day Saints Donate Vital Medical Equipment to Cagayan de Oro Hospital

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has provided additional support for healthcare services in Cagayan de Oro City by donating an endoscopy machine tower to J.R. Borja General Hospital (JRBGH), a government-owned public hospital.

Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Rolando “Klarex” A. Uy and Acting Chief of Hospital Dr. Michael June Perez were present during the turnover ceremony, which included the signing of a donation agreement with representatives from the Church’s Humanitarian Services department along with President Joel Marcaida of the Cagayan de Oro Philippines Stake. 

An endoscopy machine tower is a mobile medical cart that brings together the core electronic and digital equipment needed by doctors to perform minimally invasive diagnostic and surgical procedures, enabling them to utilize a single mobile workstation instead of separate medical resources.

The newly donated equipment is expected to benefit both the hospital’s healthcare workers and patients by strengthening JRBGH’s diagnostic capabilities and supporting the delivery of quality and accessible medical services.

“Our deepest gratitude goes to our brothers and sisters in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,” Mayor Uy said after the event, stressing that the endoscopy machine is “a great help to our healthcare workers and patients, especially in strengthening diagnostic services at JRBGH.”

Dr. Perez also thanked the Church for its donation, adding that “it is really a blessing to have this equipment or machine that can truly help the patients in need.”
