Las Piñas Stake Partners with Muntinlupa City Health Office for Bloodletting Event

Members of the Church continue to serve and help local community

The Las Piñas Stake (diocese) of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints partnered with the Muntinlupa City Health Office, Asian Hospital, and the Eagles Foundation, to hold a bloodletting activity on 27 March 2021 in Putatan, Muntinlupa City. With the theme "Dugong Alay Dugtong Buhay," this quarterly bloodletting activity helped in the saving of lives through blood donations gathered from the local community, including members of the Church of Jesus Christ in Muntinlupa.

"We are grateful for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for helping the community in hosting this bloodletting. We also appreciate those who, despite the current pandemic, chose to donate blood to help others. Every blood donor is a hero," said Aldrin Alay, coordinator of the Mobile Blood Drive.

Amid the pandemic, members of the Church found ways to serve the community. This blood donation drive is a continuing partnership of the Las Piñas Stake with the Muntinlupa City Local Government Unit and the health sector of the Alabang-Muntinlupa community. This quarterly event, which began in 2017, will continue to provide assistance and support the local community's needs.

In an effort to follow the examples of Jesus Christ, Latter-day Saints throughout the Philippines look constantly for meaningful ways to serve their community. Participating in blood drives is one way for the Church members to help relieve the sufferings of others as well as to care for those in need.
