The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints turned over computer equipment and other vital educational resources to elementary and secondary schools under the Cabagan school district in Isabela on June 23, 2026, during a turnover ceremony held at Cabagan Science Elementary School.
The donation includes desktop computers, printers, folding tables, and a heavy-duty laminator machine in support of the school district’s Reading Enhancement Assistance and Development (READY) project.
Conceptualized by Jesus C. Malayao, head of Angancasilan Elementary School, in collaboration with former Public Schools District Supervisor Dr. Nita G. Palogan, Project READY aligns with the Department of Education’s (DepEd) goal to strengthen literacy programs and improve learners’ access to quality educational resources.
“Education is a powerful instrument for personal growth, self-reliance, and community progress, and that collaborative efforts such as Project READY can create lasting and meaningful impacts for future generations,” emphasized President Jasper D. Allapitan of the Tumauini Philippines Stake (diocese), who represented the Church at the event. President Allapitan reaffirmed the Church’s commitment to helping provide learners with ready access to educational tools and opportunities.
Dr. Janet B. Magusib, Public Schools District Supervisor, conveyed her gratitude to the Church for its donation. “I hope that these donations will serve its purpose,” she expressed, “the purpose of increasing the performance of your schools.” She also assured the Church that the donation would effectively serve its intended purpose through proper stewardship and monitoring.
Joining President Allapitan during the turnover ceremony were Brother Willie Estrada, Welfare and Self-Reliance Representative, together with other stake leaders and full-time missionaries serving in the Tumauini Philippines Stake. Their presence highlighted the Church’s commitment to extending Christlike service and strengthening communities through humanitarian efforts that uplift individuals, families, and future generations.
