A simple invitation from a newly converted teacher has led to meaningful spiritual experiences for youth and families in the San Rafael Ward, Baliuag Stake, demonstrating how personal testimony and friendship-centered missionary work continue to bless lives across the Philippines.

As part of a stake seminary effort titled “I Am One in a Million,” 24 nonmember youth attended a stake seminary class after being invited by their former teacher, who recently joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Eighteen of the youth came from her previous congregation, where they had noticed changes in her Sunday worship and spiritual routine and asked about her decision to join the Church.
In response to their sincere questions, she invited them to attend seminary and learn more about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Many accepted the invitation and began meeting with missionaries and participating in gospel learning activities.
Their openness to learn soon led to significant milestones. The Bonita family, with three members, and the Samosa family, with five members, were baptized following their participation in seminary and continued interaction with missionaries. Three additional youth also entered the waters of baptism. Four more youth, James Agsao, Iyana Torres, John Mark Pajares, and Christian Villanueva, are scheduled for baptism on April 25.

Local leaders shared that this experience reflects the power of simple invitations and the influence of faithful member examples. The seminary gathering became a welcoming space where youth felt supported as they explored their faith and strengthened their relationship with Jesus Christ.

The “I Am One in a Million” initiative highlights the importance of helping each young person recognize their divine identity and individual worth as children of God. Through seminary participation and fellowship with members and missionaries, these youth experienced increased confidence in learning about the Savior and His restored gospel.
Leaders in the Baliuag Stake expressed gratitude for the missionaries, seminary teachers, and members who worked together to support the youth throughout their learning journey. Their combined efforts continue to strengthen individuals and families and contribute to the growing spirit of unity and faith in the stake.
This experience stands as a reminder that sincere questions, simple invitations, and faithful examples can open doors for many to come closer to Jesus Christ.
