FEU Campus Ministry Students Visit MTC, Temple Grounds to Learn More About Faith and Service

Students from Far Eastern University (FEU) Manila participated in a courtesy and learning visit to the Manila Philippines Administration Office of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as part of their Campus Ministry program. The visit aimed to foster interfaith understanding and provide students with a deeper appreciation of different faith traditions.

The delegation was led by Ms. Gladys Trinidad, Campus Minister of FEU, together with Father Lindale Inocando of the Oblate Apostles of the Two Hearts and Sister Malou Santos of the Congregation of the Daughters of Wisdom. According to the organizers, the purpose of the visit was for students “to know more about our background and our faith,” and to encourage dialogue rooted in mutual respect.

During the visit, students viewed Church-produced videos focused on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ and the Restoration of the gospel. They were also introduced to a local report highlighting the Church’s humanitarian initiatives, which include disaster response, education support, and community welfare efforts.

Following the presentations, the students and their leaders toured the temple grounds, the Missionary Training Center, and the First Vision statue. These visits provided opportunities for reflection and discussion on faith, service, and shared Christian values.

Participants shared positive reflections on the experience. Brother Alberto Buencochillo, a sacristan from the Manila Cathedral, expressed appreciation for the opportunity to learn about another faith tradition.

“I am so glad to know another religion,” Buencochillo said. “It is good to experience what other religions have to say so that we can help stop prejudice.”

Father Lindale Inocando also reflected on his experience, emphasizing the spirit of welcome and Christ-centered love he observed during the visit.

“First, I am grateful,” Father Incocando said. “It is indeed inspiring, moving, and faith-and-love lifting to meet my brothers and sisters here in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Everyone was so accommodating, and the joyful sharing of the love of Christ was evident.”

He added that the experience reinforced a shared Christian responsibility.

“My takeaway today is that followers of Christ should act as Christ did—that we love as Christ loves. That is the most important thing in life: that we love God and that we love our neighbors.”

As the visit concluded, students received copies of the Book of Mormon, and For the Strength of Youth Guide, which many accepted as an opportunity to continue learning about the beliefs and teachings of the Church.
