Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will dedicate the Bacolod Philippines Temple on Sunday, May 31, 2026. The dedication ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. and will be broadcast to all Church units within the temple district. A rebroadcast of the dedicatory session will be held at 2 p.m. the same day.
The Bacolod Philippines Temple will be the sixth operating temple in the Philippines and the second in the Visayas, joining the Cebu City Philippines Temple, dedicated in 2010. It is the third Philippines temple to be dedicated in 2026, following the Alabang Philippines Temple on January 18 and the Davao Philippines Temple on May 3.
Prior to the dedication, the Church hosted a public open house from April 16 to May 2, 2026, inviting people of all faiths and backgrounds to tour the interior of the temple free of charge. A media day was held April 13, followed by invited guest tours on April 14 and 15.
DOWNLOADThe Bacolod Philippines Temple was announced by President Russell M. Nelson during the women's session of the October 2019 general conference. Ground was broken for the temple on December 11, 2021, with Elder Taniela B. Wakolo, then Philippines Area President, presiding.
The single-story temple spans approximately 2,480 square meters and stands on a 12.3-acre site at the corner of Bacolod Airport Access Road and Buri Road, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental. The temple features a distinctive domed cupola with metallic diamond shingles, backlit art glass, decorative urns, and ornate window casings. An ancillary building of approximately 1,672 square meters was also constructed on the property, providing patron accommodations, an arrival center, and a distribution center.
The temple's first president and matron will be Gregorio Horlador Lagana and Maria Luisa Arnaiz Nain Lagana.
The Philippines is home to more than 900,000 Latter-day Saints worshipping in approximately 1,325 congregations. The dedication of the Bacolod Philippines Temple is part of a historic period of temple growth in the country, with three temples to be dedicated in 2026 alone.
