Elder Cook Says We Can #HearHim as We Serve and Strive to Bless Others

The most recent video in “How I hear Him” series, Elder Quentin L. Cook of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles testifies that when we try to hear the voice of the Lord, we can receive that guidance that we need through the Holy Ghost.

Using an example from his time as a Latter-day Saint bishop when the Holy Ghost revealed to him how to counsel a couple in crisis, Elder Cook said that revelation will come through our steady, committed strivings to serve and bless others and our own families.

“When you’re serving others and you need to bless somebody else, ... that’s when the Holy Ghost most often bears witness. ... In my experience, [the Holy Ghost] does come, and I can hear His voice ... in a way that gives me the guidance that I need,” he said.

The video is part of the #HearHim series of videos and blogs where leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints share thoughts and experiences about how Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ speak to us. The video was shared on Elder Cook’s social media accounts and accompanies a blog article by Elder Cook on ChurchofJesusChrist.org.
