Students and educators at Kitcharao Central Elementary School (KCES) received new digital learning tools and classroom equipment during a turnover and acceptance ceremony held on March 11, 2026.

The donation, provided by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, includes 80 smart televisions, 40 desktop computers, two printers, 580 monobloc chairs, and 720 monobloc armchairs. The resources are expected to help improve classroom learning and strengthen the school’s capacity to support students across the district.

Teachers, school administrators, Department of Education representatives and Church leaders attended the ceremony, highlighting a shared commitment to improving educational opportunities for the rising generation.

Supporting Education Through Service

Norman D. Dolorfino, Tubod Philippines Stake President, emphasized that the project reflects the Church’s commitment to serving communities and supporting the development of young people.

“We are focused on the impact of this donation on our children,” Dolorfino said, noting that education plays a vital role in helping the rising generation prepare for the future.

Church leaders also shared that humanitarian initiatives like this are made possible through the voluntary contributions and sacrifices of Church members who seek to help those in need.

Preparing Students for the Future

Dr. Hector Macalalag, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent and representative of the Department of Education, highlighted the importance of innovation and technology in modern education.

He noted that schools must continue adapting to new challenges to ensure that students are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed in a rapidly changing world.

“It takes a village to raise a child,” Macalalag said, emphasizing the importance of partnerships between schools, communities and organizations that support learning.

A Commitment to Students and Teachers

During the ceremony, Eliasa M. Montante, District Supervisor, formally accepted the donation on behalf of the Kitcharao District, which serves 14 schools, approximately 5,200 learners and 228 teachers.

“On behalf of the Kitcharao District, we express our sincere gratitude for these digital devices, school equipment and furniture,” Montante said. “We commit to using these resources to create meaningful learning experiences and to improve outcomes for our students.”

The program concluded with remarks from Ian Kristoffer F. Basco, School Principal of Kitcharao Central Elementary School.

Strengthening Communities Through Education

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints regularly partners with schools, local governments and community organizations across the Philippines to support education and youth development.

Through donations of learning equipment, training programs and other humanitarian initiatives, the Church seeks to strengthen schools and expand opportunities for children to learn, grow and reach their full potential.
