The humanitarian arm of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Latter-Day Saint Charities (LDSC), turned over bundles of various educational supplies to Mt. View Elementary School, Mariveles, Bataan, May 28, 2021.
The donated supplies include 1,500 reams of A4-sized bond paper, 20 pocket wi-fi units, and 200 bottles of EPSON Ink, to the benefit of the school's 771 students, and their parents and teachers alike.
The school overflowed with gratitude during the turnover ceremony. "Nagpapasalamat kami at nakatanggap kami ng ganito karami [na school supplies]. Di na po kami maghahanap kasi meron na dito na ganito karami. (We would like to express our gratitude for the generous donation [of school supplies]. We no longer need to look for school supplies because we have been supplied our needs.)" stated Mrs. Nelfa Junela, a representative of the General Parents-Teachers Association (GPTA).
Local officials from Mariveles, including the Municipal Mayor, Hon. Jocelyn Castaneda, as well as the Brgy. Chairman of Mt. View, Hon. Leoncio A. Lungcay and some of his councilors were present at the program. LDSC missionaries, the Lucia couple, with the Orion Stake (diocese) President, Benjie Pajanustan, facilitated.
President Pajanustan talked about where the funds for such projects came, which was met with astonishment and gratitude. He mentioned that part of the funds were the contributions of the church members.
This project is the third in the community. Lucanin Elementary School, and Sta. Elena Elementary School also received similar supplies.
