Church Strengthens Community Healthcare in Nueva Ecija with Laboratory Equipment Donation

Community hospital and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints working together to advancing diagnostics and serving lives in Gen. Tinio.

In a formal turnover ceremony held on April 28, 2026, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints donated laboratory equipment to the Gen. Tinio Medicare and Community Hospital, strengthening the facility's capacity to serve patients across the province of Nueva Ecija.

Among the donated equipment is a microscope, a vital diagnostic tool that will enable hospital staff to detect and identify diseases with greater precision and accuracy. The addition is expected to significantly enhance the quality of laboratory services and, ultimately, improve patient care for the residents of Gen. Tinio and surrounding communities.

A Gift That Will Make a Difference

Dr. Rodrigo D. Chan Jr., Officer-in-Charge Chief of the Hospital, received the donation on behalf of the institution and expressed his gratitude plainly and warmly.

"This donation will surely make a huge difference in the lives of the many patients," Dr. Chan said, extending his thanks to the Church for what he described as generosity and an unwavering commitment to service.

Also present were Dr. Clodualdo Joanino III, Hospital Administrator, and Dr. Christian Salazar, Acting Provincial Health Officer, whose attendance underscored the shared commitment of local health leadership to the advancement of healthcare services in the community.

Service Rooted in Faith

President Archamedes Bautista of the Gapan Philippines Stake attended the ceremony alongside his wife, Dra. Bautista, and spoke of the connection between faith and charitable action,  sharing how missionary work inspires members of the Church to reach beyond their congregations and serve their communities in meaningful ways.

Brother Ryan Manrique, Welfare and Self-Reliance Services Manager for the Church, also delivered remarks, highlighting the Church's long-standing commitment to community welfare as an expression of its core values.

The hospital likewise acknowledged the presence of Elder and Sister Neff, couple missionaries who attended and represented the spirit of selfless service that motivates the Church's humanitarian efforts.

A Lasting Contribution

The hospital staff expressed deep appreciation for the Church's generosity. The donated laboratory equipment now stands as a lasting contribution to healthcare in Gen. Tinio and a testament to what becomes possible when communities of faith and public institutions work together toward a common good.
