The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was recognized for its ongoing humanitarian partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd) Region III during the 2026 Regional Stakeholders Appreciation Program, held January 27 at the Hacienda Gracia Hotel and Resort in Lubao, Pampanga.
The event brought together education leaders, partners, and advocates from across Central Luzon under the theme “Strong Collaboration Creates High Impact and Progress.” Church representatives joined fellow stakeholders in celebrating shared efforts to strengthen learning environments and expand access to quality education for Filipino students.
DepEd Region III honored the Church for its sustained support to schools and learners across the region. While certificates and ceremonial recognition marked the occasion, Church representatives emphasized that the true measure of success is seen in the improved learning conditions of students and the strengthened capacity of schools to serve their communities.

A Commitment Rooted in Service
The Church’s humanitarian work in education is guided by its desire to follow the example of Jesus Christ through service that uplifts individuals and communities. In partnership with various Schools Division Offices (SDOs) in Region III, the Church has helped provide essential educational resources to address both immediate needs and long-term development goals.
Among the initiatives recognized were:
- The donation of 138 desktop computers, 20 printers, and 3 televisions distributed across five schools to support digital learning and classroom instruction.
- In collaboration with SDO Olongapo, the Church helped provide 1,027 tablets, enabling students to participate more fully in technology-enabled education.
- In SDO Bulacan, the Church facilitated the donation of 8,000 student chairs, helping ensure that children have safe, comfortable, and dignified spaces in which to learn.
- Additional projects have supported schools in SDO San Jose del Monte Bulacan, SDO Bataan, and SDO Zambales, reinforcing the region’s shared commitment to quality basic education.
Partners in Progress
The appreciation program featured musical performances by the Jose Depiro Kabataan Orkestra and messages from education leaders, including DepEd Region III Regional Director Ronnie S. Mallari, who highlighted the importance of collaboration between government, communities, and private partners.
The Church received the Gawad Gintong Alab Award, recognizing its meaningful contribution to education in the region. Church representatives noted that such recognition reflects the generosity of Church members and partners who make humanitarian efforts possible.
