Church of Jesus Christ Donates Medical Supplies to Santa Rosa City

To support local healthcare services, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints donated essential medical supplies to the Santa Rosa City Health Office II in Balibago, Santa Rosa City, Laguna, last February 6, 2025.

Mayor Arlene B. Arcillas and Vice Mayor Arnold Arcillas received the donations on behalf of the City Health Office, headed by Dr. Erwin Escal. The donations included multiple medical instruments—such as blood pressure apparatuses, infant weighing scales, portable electric suction machines, stethoscope sets, portable ultrasounds with UPS printers, Doppler ultrasounds, and trolleys — as well as office equipment including laptops, printers, and refrigerators.

The donation, made possible through the Church’s Humanitarian Services, aims to address the Santa Rosa community's needs and strengthen local health centers' capacity. The Church is committed to humanitarian outreach, assisting communities worldwide through relief and development programs.

Mayor Arcillas expressed that the donated medical instruments would greatly help boost medical and health services in the city, especially in providing more efficient patient care.

During the turnover ceremony, President Ryan A. Bautista, Second Counselor in the Cabuyao Philippines Stake (diocese), shared the city’s gratitude: “Mayor Arcillas deeply appreciates what the Church has done—their gratitude is overflowing. You can especially see the happiness of the midwives in the barangays since they will be using the supplies. Even Dr. Escal mentioned that the Church provided abundant, much-needed support,” he said.

City Health Office II Director Dr. Erwin Escal, Bishop Jenrick F. Relucano of the Santa Rosa 2nd Ward, local midwives, and humanitarian and self-reliance missionaries also attended the event.

Mayor Arcillas and Dr. Escal both expressed appreciation for the Church’s support and emphasized the significance of collaborative efforts in improving local public health services. According to them, the donated medical items and supplies will be distributed to various health centers across Santa Rosa, benefiting residents, especially those with limited access to or who cannot afford paid medical care.
