Church Empowers Occidental Mindoro Hospital with Vital Medical Equipment

On May 9, 2023, representatives of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including Elder and Sis Hayne, Elder and Sis Bray, and other local church members from San Jose 1 and 2 and Mamburao branches, congregated at the Occidental Mindoro Provincial Hospital. The purpose of their gathering was to witness a significant event—the Church's donation of medical and office equipment to Dr. Reynaldo A. Feratero, Chief of Hospital 1, in support of the hospital's maternity and newborn departments.

Expressing their gratitude, provincial officials hailed the equipment as a significant contribution that will greatly benefit the people of the province. "This equipment will help the people of this province, and no more mothers, especially indigenous mothers, will suffer while giving birth. These pieces of equipment will help the growing numbers of patients in the newly built outpatient department of the hospital," stated Dr. Maria Teressa Vergara-Tan and Dr. Reynaldo A. Feratero.

The turnover ceremony took place in the conference room of the provincial hospital, where Sister Hayne emphasized the importance of loving and assisting one's neighbors, just as Jesus Christ did during his time on Earth.

The donated equipment encompasses a wide range of essential items, including three OB Examining Tables, four Drop Lights, one CTG Machine, two OB Doppler Machines, one Weighing Scale Pedia, one Weighing Scale Adult, five Nebulizers, one Examining Table Pedia, six Examining Tables for adults, two Cribs, one OR Table, one OR Light, one Cautery Machine, two Suction Machines, one Autoclave Machine, five Filing Cabinets, three Computers, and three Printers.

The event was highlighted by the signing of a memorandum of agreement between the Church and the hospital, solidifying their partnership and commitment to improving healthcare services in the region.

The Church's mission extends beyond religious boundaries as it seeks to alleviate suffering for families of all nationalities and religions, offering hope and the potential for a better life to millions of people worldwide. Through initiatives like this donation, the Church aims to make a positive impact and provide support where it is most needed.
