In continuing to promote quality education in the Philippines, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints donated a dozen laptop computers, printers, smart TVs, and other electronic learning equipment to Ampid-1 Elementary School on March 26, 2024.
Additionally, the Church has also provided 500 monobloc chairs, 10 tables, 50 study desks, and water dispensers to enhance the comfort of both teachers and students at the school.
Lack of equipment is a pressing need for young learners in public schools in the Philippines, which is why many teachers and parents at Ampid-1 were pleasantly surprised when local Church leaders approached them last year to inquire about the school's crucial needs.
“The visit from the Church leaders was a true blessing for us,” expressed Ma. Jennifer Bive, the Principal of Ampid-1 Elementary School, in her heartfelt message of gratitude.
“On behalf of the 1,648 learners, 39 teachers, and 9 non-teaching personnel of this school, we extend our profound gratitude to the Church, its leaders, and missionaries for helping our A1ES learners. Maraming, maraming salamat po,” she added.
President Christopher Domingo, President of the Montalban Philippines Stake (diocese), in his short message, shared a verse from the Book of Mormon. “We believe that when we are in the service of our fellow beings, we are also in the service of God,” he said.
