The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released guidelines on Sunday, January 7, 2024, for Filipino Latter-day Saints eagerly anticipating the first-ever tour to the Philippines by the Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square in February 2024.
The highly anticipated concerts of the Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square will take place on February 27-28, 2024, at the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena, starting at 8:00 p.m. Acclaimed Broadway singer and actress Lea Salonga will be the featured guest and will perform alongside the Tabernacle Choir.
“We urge members to fully engage in this unique and inspiring experience. To facilitate participation and enhance member experience, we have prepared a comprehensive Member Guide,” the Philippines Area Presidency said in their letter dated January 7.
“This guide contains detailed information on various aspects of the choir’s tour, including ticket acquisition, participation in social media campaigns, organizing watch parties, and opportunities for missionary outreach,” they added.
The email, sent to all ecclesiastical leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ in the Philippines, also contained guidelines on the distribution of concert tickets, livestream details, instructions on how to hold watch parties, and social media assets to help promote the tour on social media.
Tickets to the live concert at SM MOA Arena are free of charge. Due to limited seating, tickets will be distributed through an online registration platform, which, according to the ‘Member Guide,’ will go live in the second week of January 2024.
Those fortunate enough to register and acquire a reservation will be asked to redeem their tickets from February 6-20, 2024, via SM Ticket Outlets nationwide. Additional announcements and updates will be published on The Tabernacle Choir Philippine Tour and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Philippines Facebook pages.
Those who choose to watch the concert remotely are invited to gather at their local stake centers on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, via live streaming. Local leaders are advised to showcase the local viewing as a family setting. They may consider serving refreshments, having a pre-broadcast youth talent show, incorporating decorations or other celebration elements, and inviting local VIPs and prominent individuals to attend the concert.
Members also have the option to sponsor watch parties at home, where they can watch the live stream of the concert with their family and friends via the Internet.
